I am an employment specialist, advising a wide range of businesses, organisations and individuals on a variety of employment law matters. In particular, I assist clients with dealing with disciplinary and grievance issues, redundancies, TUPE and settlement agreements. I also have expertise on the preparation and maintenance of employment contracts, policies and procedures. I also work closely with my colleagues in our Company Commercial and Commercial Property teams to deal with the employment aspect of mergers and acquisitions.
I regularly assist clients with the conduct of Employment Tribunal litigation on cases of unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing and employment status.
I enjoy advising employers both during the employment relationship, to help companies and managers focus on the running of their business while navigating complex employment law (such as TUPE and disciplinary and grievance issues) and when that relationship comes to an end, advising on dismissals, settlement agreements or redundancies.
I also advise individuals, advising on contracts of employment prior to commencing a role, where they have concerns during their employment, or where they have been dismissed or see no alternative option but to resign.
I studied Law at the University of Cardiff, before training with a large regional firm in Birmingham. I am also a member of the Employment Lawyers' Association.
When I’m not at work, I can usually be found running the busy social lives of my two young sons.
