We acted on behalf of a 17 year old boy, who got his hand trapped in a fruit crushing machine on which he was working. He suffered a severe crush injury to his thumb, index and middle fingers, requiring reconstructive surgery. He also suffered fractures and required significant plastic surgery and skin grafting. Following the accident, he suffered post-traumatic stress disorder, resulting in symptoms of anxiety, depression and alcoholism. We obtained an admission of liability after the Defendant had gone into liquidation, and worked closely with them, to provide rehabilitative services to our client, in connection with his psychological injuries and alcohol dependency. We assisted him in looking for alternative employment opportunities and obtained compensation for his injuries, as well as money to compensate him for his disadvantage upon the labour market.
