Healthcare Claim - Non-consent to medical treatment

We were able to give swift advice to a client on holiday abroad who had been informed that her elderly Mother had been taken into hospital for treatment to which she had not consented.

We were able to liaise with the medical team and the nursing home staff and identify where inadvertent confusion had arisen. The hospital apologised, the treatment was cancelled and the elderly patient in question was transferred back to her nursing home to await her daughters return so that a full discussion of the treatment plan could take place.
