Injury Claim - Road Traffic Accident

On 2 October 2003, our client was involved in a road traffic accident on his way back from work. Whilst queuing, he was hit from behind by a lorry. His next clear memory was of lying on the road on the motorway, with an ambulance crew next to him. He sustained whiplash injuries, with particular problems to his neck and we assisted him in obtaining physiotherapy via the Defendant’s rehabilitative services, to relieve these symptoms. However, as a result of his loss of consciousness, he developed severe head and neck pain and blurred vision. This continued, and after 4-6 weeks after the accident, he lost his sense of taste and smell. We obtained a neurological report, which confirmed that he had suffered a mild traumatic brain injury, which can be secondary to a whiplash injury. Our client learned to cope with these permanent symptoms and fit them around his management responsibilities. He also suffered mild post traumatic stress disorder. He continues with problems of dizziness and vertigo, causing problems with balance and co-ordination. We obtained an admission of liability and subsequent compensation for our client.
