Helen qualified as a solicitor in 1990 following training in one of the largest firms of lawyers in London. Helen specialises in maximum severity personal injury claims and clinical negligence cases. She is a member of both the Law Society Personal Injury and Medical Negligence Panels and is a Fellow of the College of Personal Injury Law. She is widely known for her work representing the victims of head injury and for five years was co-ordinator of the APIL (Association of Personal Injury Lawyers) Brain Injury Special Interest Group. She is a member of the board of trustees of Headway Surrey and is the current Chair of the Surrey Acquired Brain Injury Network. She has also developed a particular specialism in acting for mothers and children following adverse events in labour and birth. Helen also acts as Court of Protection Receiver and trustee for several of her clients and is a recognised speaker and trainer in her fields of expertise.
