Links with Others

We believe it is crucial not only to be good lawyers but also to understand the issues faced on a day to day basis by our most disabled clients. We therefore work closely with other organisations who serve the same group of people, some of which are listed below.

Aspire

Aspire is a national charity providing practical support, funding and advice to people with spinal cord injuries in the UK and Ireland.

Through its projects and programmes, Aspire offers practical support to the 40,000 people living with a spinal cord injury in the UK so that they can lead fulfilled and independent lives in their homes, with their families, in work-places and leisure time.

Aspire's projects and services have a very simple goal - to provide the support needed to take those who use them from injury to independence. Our Human Needs Fund gives grants to help people buy the specialist equipment to live more independently; our temporary Houses serve as accommodation for people newly discharged from hospital whilst their own property is being adapted; the Independent Living Advisors all have a spinal injury themselves and share practical advice and information on the best services available; whilst our Assistive Technology facilities at Spinal Injury Centres help people use computers, regardless of their level of injury.

Child Brain Injury Trust

The Child Brain Injury Trust was established by a group of health professionals in 1991 to research and provide information regarding the effects of'traumatic' injury on a child's developing brain.

Parents of children with acquired brain injury were keen to become actively involved with the charity and over time the emphasis on the work changed.

Today the Child Brain Injury Trust is the leading voluntary sector organisation (registered charity and company limited by guarantee) providing non-medical services to families affected by the childhood acquired brain injury across the UK.
