Search Orders
A Search Order granted in civil proceedings cannot be carried out without a Supervising Solicitor being appointed.
The Supervising Solicitor is a solicitor independent of the parties. He or she has the responsibility to serve the Search Order on the Respondent, provide requisite explanations as to the meaning and effect of the terms of the Order, and supervise the carrying out of the Order by the Applicant’s representatives.
Our Experience
Barlow Robbins LLP has one of the largest Dispute Resolution teams in Surrey and our Supervising Solicitors have a wealth of experience in handling Search Orders. This means we are extremely adept at handling the complex legal and practical issues that can arise during the course of supervising a Search Order. It also means we are accustomed to all of the various types of Order a court might make. The team derives additional experience of Search Orders from advising their own clients in cases involving fraud, intellectual property infringement and misuse of data and confidential information.
We are one of the few firms in our region to offer a specialist Supervisor Solicitors service.
The Team
Our team of six highly experienced Solicitors are able to respond at short notice to Applicants needing to appoint one of more Supervising Solicitors to oversee the execution of a Search Order. They deal with single or multi-site searches at both business and domestic premises. The mixed-sex nature of our team means we are able to act in the full range of domestic premises searches.
As well as fulfilling their supervising role, our solicitors will provide guidance and know-how on technical issues, practicalities and other logistical matters to ensure the search is completed smoothly and effectively.
The team predominantly undertakes work in London, the Midlands and the South of England. We do however, have the capability to act anywhere in England and Wales.
