Risk and Compliance Officer - Woking

A leading law firm in Surrey is seeking a full-time Risk and Compliance Officer to work within the Risk, Compliance and Quality Department based at the Woking office. This position will work closely with the Risk, Compliance & Quality Manager and Compliance Officer for Legal Practice to ensure that the Firm complies with its regulatory obligations.

The successful candidate will also work regularly with the Compliance Officer for Finance and Administration regarding compliance relating to money laundering as well as helping to ensure adherence from all employees to internal risk management and quality procedures together with, external statutory compliance.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong IT and technical skills

  • Qualifications in some legal capacity - a law degree would be an advantage

Paralegal Vacancy Personal Injury/Clinical Negligence - Guildford

Barlow Robbins LLP requires a Paralegal to join the Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence Department based in Guildford on a full time basis.

Previous Paralegal experience is preferred but not essential. The successful candidate must be assertive with a flexible and willing attitude. This role may suit someone who has completed their LLB, GDL or LPC. Applicants must be IT literate and confidently able to use Word, Outlook and Excel with good attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

Tax and Trusts Administration Paralegal Vacancy - Guildford

A Tax and Trusts Administration Paralegal is required within our Private Wealth and Tax team to work alongside a reputable Senior Associate specialising in Tax and Trusts. The role is based at the Guildford office.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has high numerical literacy, perhaps with an Accountancy background and with an interest in the law, looking to or already studying towards CILEx within Tax and Trusts Law.

The role predominantly covers Tax and Trusts administration along with tax returns. Working with Trustees, Stockbrokers and Investment Managers as well as wealthy private clients, the successful candidate will require strong interpersonal skills, be robust and have the ability to build strong, trusting relationships.

The role will involve working in collaboration with other departments within the firm, such as Personal Injury and Court of Protection, therefore teamwork and a willingness to do all that is required to provide exceptional client service is essential. You will be required to carry out your own billing and time recording, however, the successful candidate will at all times be supervised.

To be considered for this position, you must have superior administrative and IT skills, in particular with Microsoft Excel, an accurate command of the English language, exceptional numeracy skills, a real desire to help people, a “can do” attitude and a willingness to learn.

Personal Injury Solicitor - Guildford

A vacancy has arisen in our Personal Injury Department based at our Guildford office for a 2 - 3 PQE Solicitor on a full time basis.

This role provides the opportunity to work as part of the firm’s specialist Claimant personal injury claim team to deliver an excellent client service, predominantly but not exclusively to clients who have sustained severe brain and spinal injuries.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a thorough training on the CPR and pre action protocols as they relate to personal injury claims and must have an understanding of the Rehabilitation Code.

Skills required will include team work, initiative, great communication and self-management, flexibility, a ‘can do’ attitude, an enthusiasm to learn new things and the ability to be an impressive ambassador for the Department and firm.

Contentious Property Solicitor - Guildford

A vacancy has arisen in our Dispute Resolution team at our Guildford office. A Solicitor with 2-3 PQE dealing with contentious real estate matters is required on a full time basis to join our busy team.

The Applicant will have a record in contentious property work with experience of commercial landlord and tenant disputes (business tenancy renewals, rent reviews and dilapidation cases). He or she will have knowledge of disputes involving easements, restrictive covenants, boundaries and co-ownership. An understanding of the law relating to long leases of flats (lease extensions, enfranchisement and service charge disputes) would be an advantage.

The clients in most part will be commercial organisations, particularly small and medium enterprises and high net worth individuals.

The firm has large residential and commercial property departments and the candidate will support non-contentious lawyers and participate as needed in those departments.

Sensitivity to the clients and skills to build up the work are expected. A passion for contentious property work is essential.
