Birthing injury resulting in multi-organ failure
Barlow Robbins settled a case involving delayed diagnosis of a serious bowel obstruction in a young lady expecting her first child. The combination of a number of breaches of their duty of care by the hospital led the Claimant to suffer from several days of excruciating pain, sepsis and multi-organ failure. Physically she recovered well but the traumatic events of the hospital admission left her with post-traumatic stress disorder and depression. The matter was settled without the need for Court proceedings.
The client was very satisfied with the outcome.
