GDPR Training

09 March 2018

We continue to travel the length and breadth of the country, working with BSA, IAPS and other associations and groups of independent schools, speaking about the practical implications of GDPR and the impact it will have on schools’ documentation, procedures and communication with staff, parents, pupils and alumni after 25 May.

We are also working with individual schools in order to conduct or support their data audit and compliance journey. Our research shows that there is a surprising lack of practical advice and solutions being made available to the sector. So, in addition to our popular compliance strategy service packages , we have also devised a practical training programme for your Senior Leadership and Project Team, designed to help you avoid common misunderstandings and pitfalls as you prepare for GDPR. We will visit you at school, equip you to identify your areas of risk and support you in achieving compliant practices.

The session might cover:

  • GDPR regulatory landscape - what's new?
  • Retention of records & subject access requests
  • Privacy notices & parent contracts
  • Conditions for processing: consent & legitimate interest
  • Direct marketing & fundraising
  • Your GDPR compliance strategy
Shrewsbury House School Trust have found the Barlow Robbins’ Platinum Service a most effective support tool in their preparation for compliance to GDPR. The training, the audit questionnaire and related resources provide a comprehensive and easy structure to follow which enables everyone to identify matters that require attention in a logical and manageable way.” Mrs Jan Hand - Director of Communications & Compliance, Shrewsbury House School Trust
