Protecting where you live or what you own can be stressful. We are meticulous and tenacious in achieving the outcome you seek, but will be pragmatic in the advice we deliver and, in particular, on the cost / benefit analysis of embarking on litigation. We work for a variety of individuals and families, including home owners, landlords, property investors and tenants.
- Landlord and tenant disputes
Our team acts for both landlords and tenants and has considerable experience of serving notices, obtaining possession and recovering rent arrears. We advise on disrepair, arguments over service charges and all other types of tenancy dispute. We also act for landlords and tenants in connection with statutory lease extensions, collective enfranchisement and setting up right to buy companies.
Our team frequently acts in boundary disputes and works closely with local surveyors to resolve these as quickly and as cost effectively as possible. We have considerable experience of alternative dispute resolution, including mediation, which is often employed in these cases.
- Land rights
Our team has considerable experience in litigating over a variety of land rights including easements, such as rights of way and rights to light, and restrictive covenants. We deal with the enforcement of such rights where a land owner may be preventing you from exercising your rights over his land. We also advise on the acquisition of such rights by long use and the acquisition of title to land by adverse possession.
