We now number most of the preparatory and senior independent schools in Surrey amongst our clients and our reputation has spread significantly further afield with schools in London, across the South East and in the Midlands coming to us for advice on a wide range of matters. In relation to charities other than independent schools, our clients include charities which are local to us as well as national charities.
Many of our partners serve as trustees themselves so we understand that charities of today need to organise themselves in an efficient and effective way mindful of the legal and regulatory framework in which they exist. Our experience is such that we are able to bring a great deal of practical as well as legal advice to our charity clients.

The work we do for our charity and school clients encompasses a number of different legal disciplines including formation of charities, charity law and governance, property, employment law, fund-raising and sponsorship contracts, mergers of charities, protection and exploitation of a charity’s name and logo and disputes involving charities.
We are frequently asked to provide speakers for various events and conferences and have been involved in training on contracts for the fundraising departments of two major national charities, giving presentations to trustees on trustees’ and directors’ duties and liabilities and we have participated in a training and development programme for charities leading a course entitled “All you need to know about Charity Law”.
